Everyone met at Camp O'Leno on Friday, March 25, 2011 to preview the projects they were to complete on Saturday, March 26th which included building bat houses, a turtle run, planting native plants and park clean-up. These projects aid in restoration and protection of Floridas natural environment through resource management and environmental education. AmeriCorps staff joined the group on an overnight camping experience at River Rise Preserve, which included impersonators of early Florida settlers and Indian dances around the campfire. On Saturday morning the group returned to Camp OLeno to complete their projects, go on a hike and enjoy the exhibits at the OLeno Spring Fling held at the park on Saturday. Although the projects were challenging, everyone had a great time. According to Florida Crown WIA Program Manager Elizabeth Wetherington, It was exciting to see how everyone worked together to get the projects done, and several of the participants wanted to know when they could do this again.

UC claimants are being advised to contact AWI Wednesday through Friday at 1-800-385-3920 for worksearch verification. Just a Common Soldier

(A Soldier Died Today)

by A. Lawrence Vaincourt

He was getting old and paunchy and his hair was falling fast, And he sat around the Legion, telling stories of the past. Of a war that he had fought in and the deeds that he had done, In his exploits with his buddies; they were heroes, every one.

Success Stories!!!

On this page you will find success stories provided by our customers. Many customers have asked to write a thank you letter to our Board of Directors. This is their page to do just that.

Dear Florida Crown,

I just wanted to write a quick letter letting y'all know how much I appreciate what y'all have done for me over the past few years. I went from worrying how I was going to feed my children to making excellent money as an LPN. If it wasn't for the help that Ms. Doris Hall was able to giveme and the encouragement, compassion and patience from her, I would nopt have made it through. Now, I am glad I can come up here for other assistance that I may need from the resource room. I also want to say thnks to Ms. Lisa Talley for taking time out of her busy day to help me with my faxing issues. Again, I just wanted to say thanks for everything that Florida Crown has given me, and to let know there are a few success stories out there.

My deepest thanks,
Christina Shisler
